Responsible for die-cast dies and trim die repairs, changeovers and upgrades. Requires set-up and operation of all tool room equipment and use of precision measuring tools. Capable of troubleshooting problems related to tooling. May assist co-workers in all areas pertaining to die repair functions.
Makes repairs and changes to die-cast dies and trim tools in timely manner.
Repairs tooling while in production, as required.
Performs changeover operations on all tooling.
Troubleshoots problems related to die-cast dies and trim tools and make the necessary corrections.
Performs set-ups and operates all tool room equipment.
Accurately uses all precision measuring tools.
Heat treats small die parts.
Constructs slides, ejector plates, ejector pins, core pins and other die components.
Makes gauges and machining fixtures, as required.
Works from tool drawing to make a variety of die changes and repairs.
Works with Quality Assurance to maintain and improve quality.
Interfaces with Engineering and Production on tooling upgrades, corrections and changes.
Provides training to less experienced tool room employees.
Maintains machinery, cleans equipment and work area.
Sharpens cutting tools.
High School diploma or minimum 6 years vocational training, or equivalent experience.
Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates ability to use hand and power tools.
Understands Quality Policy Environmental Policy and Safety Policies.
